Baby Emmaus
Last night, I went to a Maundy Thursday service at my church, and when I stepped out of the sanctuary to get a drink of water, I met up with a friend of mine at the water fountain. She's a new mom! She told me that she gave birth to her daughter on Epiphany, and she and her husband named the baby Emmaus, after the story that is told in Luke 24:13-35 about two disciples walking toward a town together after Jesus died, not knowing he was risen, when Jesus himself came and walked with them. The town, the destination they eventually reach together with Jesus, was called Emmaus. What a beautiful Bible story! What a precious name for a baby! I loved it.
