Unnecessareans in California

California Watch has published a new study. It shows that women in are 17% more likely to have a cesarean in a for-profit hospital than a non-profit hospital in California: pretty statistically significant. What are the implications of this for Illinois and other states? I suspect the problem is endemic. Unnecesareans are being performed everyday to the detriment of mothers and babies.
