I love preemies. Babies come early for a variety of reasons, and sometimes, if they are about 37 weeks old at birth, they can be healthy and developed to come right home with their parents. If born before then, preemies need extra care in NICU (the neonatal intensive care unit) until they can self-regulate their body temperature, gain a healthy body weight, and feed on their own.
